Fiber-Reinforced Polymers in Freeform Structures: A Review

چکیده

This article is a survey discussing the application of fiber-reinforced polymer composites in freeform structures and their impact on design shape generation process. The analysis case studies showed that use FRP not only helps to overcome some challenges construction objects with complex geometry, but also creates brand new types approaches. On other hand, there problem—although materials are frequently used construction, shapes methods often traditional simply copied from such as wood, concrete, steel. have been applied civil engineering for several decades, since 1960s, building envelopes, façade skins, load-bearing structures, internal external reinforcement. aims analyze this accumulated experience explore role buildings free, complex, fluid, organic shapes. A classification composite proposed. They classified according methodology at conceptual stage: created by using geometric approach, form-finding (equilibrium) or biomimetic approach. Each approach described its own separate section, thorough literature state-of-the-art review.
